Joe is now back at home after a planned minor op on both of his big toes ! All went well, and everything looks okay other than the fact that both of his feet have to stay bandaged up for a week. What an excuse for loads of playstation / wii / DS time !

It’s half term !

Hooray, it’s half term now, so the kids are all off school for a couple of weeks. They’ll be causing mischief & mayhem at home for Sarah, while Mark is off at work. Good Luck !

Visit to Luton

We went to see Nanny and Grandad Samuels in Luton today. Auntie Denise is staying there aswell with her new baby Youssef. They will be returning home to Tunisia soon. It was good to see everyone (and lucky the dog), and we all got plenty of new baby cuddles.

We’ve been to see Nanny & Grandad Hammond today.

It was great to see them today & everyone had a good time. We swapped easter eggs and had a nice lunch at the Little Chef ! What a great day !

Lauren is a tennis champion !

Hooray !

It’s official, Lauren is a tennis champion ! Oakley Vale Primary School’s girls tennis team won their tournament today at the Corby Indoor Tennis Centre. Well done Lauren & girls !

We’ve been to see some penguins !

(and some other animals !).

We’ve been to Hunstanton Sea Life Centre and saw many animals including sharks, seals, penguins, otters, all sorts of fish, crabs, starfish etc.

We also went on some fairground rides and had a great time.

“Our talented student musicians are celebrating after picking up two cups at the prestigious Eisteddfod.

The Senior Concert Band retained its title in the Open Category and the brass ensemble lifted its first award, claiming first in the instrumental Ensemble in the 16 years and under category.

CBA Musical Director Clive Wears said: “The performances were fantastic and I am extremely proud of the students.

“There was a lot of hard work and rehearsal leading up to the Eisteddfod, which has paid off.

“The challenge now is to retain the titles next year.”

The Senior Concert band, which beat the Southfield School for Girls Brass Emsemble into Second Place, played ten minutes of music in the competition, treating the audience to music from the film Shrek and also a medley from Les Miserables.

The audjudicator’s remarks of the performance said the band ‘ was a very well organised large ensemble with a fine sense of organisation’. Particular mention was also made about the ‘lovely percussion playing’.

And the Brass Ensemble was applauded by the audjudicator for its ’spirited and lively performances’.

Second in the category were the Bishop Stopford Flute Choir and third place went to the Latimer School Recorder Duet.

And the music group’s triumphs were not the only success at the event. Talented Year 11 drama student Kalya Wilson collected first in the Memorised Prose Speaking in the 14 years and over category.”
